2. When was CCC launched and what are its main features?
China Compulsory Certification was officially announced on December 3, 2001.

4. CCC rules for catalogue components used in finished products

Whether a Catalogue component used in a finished product requires separate CCC certification depends on the nature of the finished product:

• If the finished product itself is within the Catalogue: the Catalogue components do not need separate CCC certification, but they must be tested together with the finished product. To shorten certification cycles, separate certification for components is encouraged.
• If the finished product is outside the Catalogue: the components are not required to be certified or tested.
